Going away my skepticism aside, I'd allege the use of the Ten Commandments is in its eternalness. I believe Jews have upwards of six hundred odd laws they keep. Or is it six grand? I forget. The Ten Commandments seem to have this air of 'no matter what happens, or how sophisticated you humans get, these laws can never turn old intentional or unnecessary.' That's a probable reason to me.

Interesting, this brings a unweathered perspective to my first thoughts on the issue. God's Commandments represent His Moral Standards (his WILL is Law of nature) and if we are to live according to his will, we must uphold them totally (No slacking or slouching). Later on the Fall of Man, it became a daunting tax to uphold his WILL perfectly so the natural instinctive attractive force to construction personal (individual) and cultural ethics (computer code of ethics and belief systems).
